What Type of Bankruptcy Do I Qualify For?

Outside the Omaha Metro Area?

Keeping Travel to a Minimum for Bankruptcy Filers

In Nebraska, you do not need to live in or travel to a major city in order to complete most aspects of your bankruptcy. The rules of the bankruptcy court allow for most of your filing to be done by telephone and e-mail.

At John T. Turco & Associates, we are fully prepared to assist clients who prefer to consult with us and complete the bankruptcy process from a distance. Just contact us to schedule a free telephone consultation with one of our experienced bankruptcy lawyers.

Consulting and Preparing Your Filing From a Distance

Our technologically advanced bankruptcy law firm has all the necessary tools to complete your bankruptcy consultation and filing from a distance. During our telephone consultation — which typically takes about an hour — we will get all the information from you that we need.

If you choose to file for bankruptcy, we will give every aspect of your filing the same attention we would give to someone who came into our office. We will diligently double-check every aspect of your financial situation before moving forward.

Once we have prepared your bankruptcy filing petition, we can mail or e-mail it to you for you to read over, sign and send back to us. You do not need to be present when we file your petition with the court.

The moment your bankruptcy petition is filed — without having to travel to any hearings or meetings — you will get the protections of bankruptcy. If a foreclosure sale has been scheduled, it will be cancelled. Wage garnishments, repossessions, lawsuits and phone calls will all stop right away.

Providing Skilled Representation at the Hearing

Eventually, everyone who files for bankruptcy, whether under Chapter 7 or Chapter 13, needs to attend an in-person hearing. These hearings are usually a brief formality, but they cannot currently be done by telephone or electronically.

Depending on which county you live in, your hearing will be scheduled in Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island or North Platte. If your hearing is held in Omaha, one of our attorneys will accompany you. If it is held elsewhere, we have relationships with smart, capable attorneys who can represent you.

Our goal is to make the bankruptcy process as trouble-free as possible. Contact us to discuss how we can help you.

We are a debt relief agency. We help people file for bankruptcy relief under the Bankruptcy Code.
